Below is a list of volunteering opportunities in our community.  To sign up for a shift, please contact the person listed for each date and shift. Please do this at least one week in advance before the volunteering date.  All the items in this list are organized by DATE.  Remember, you represent YLA!  That means all of the following:

Habitat for Humanity Locations vary depending on date and project Jenny Ackerman, 847-836-1432 Habitat has a house build project somewhere in the Fox Valley area every Saturday of the year. Volunteers must be age 16 or older.   Saturdays   8:30 am - 4:00 pm YLA shirt, jeans and tennis shoes (or other work shoes) OK - dress for hands on construction work!

The Centre of Elgin - Heritage Ballroom 100 Symphony Way, Elgin no need to register beforehand   STEPs Roundtable Discussion:  STEPS stands for Students Together Engaging Police. YLA cadets present will talk with Elgin Police officers on how to support, sustain and expand positive youth and police engagement in Elgin. Open to ages 13-19.
